Verge Planting

Eco SoCo is planning ambitious verge planting projects around the village. These projects will range from early spring pollinators, which are vital in providing a welcome energy boost to the very earliest emerging insects, to areas of natural wildflower habitat within orchards, which are key in supporting the ecology and biodiversity of flora and fauna in our area.

Having researched our soil type, we have identified a range of suitable bulbs, seed mixes, and plants to help fulfil our aims. We also hope to provide colourful and inspirational spaces for the residents of Sonning Common.

Below is a selection of the bulbs and the wildflower seed mix we would like to plant this autumn. If you think that you could offer some help, either by way of a donation or by coming along to lend a hand on our planting days, or splitting Primroses or Hellebores from your garden to donate  (TBC), please email ecosoco24@gmail.com
